I love the Five
Little Pumpkin poem or song, and look forward to singing it every Halloween
with them. It is something that I have sung to them since they were babies. I
have wonderful memories of them sitting on the floor giggling at me with those
adorable little baby laughs as I sang it to them! So, this year it was one of
our favorite activities to do and brought back many memories.
This activity gave
both them practice in coloring, cutting, and gluing! With just a little help
with the cutting and making a gate my little guy was even able to participate.
First we colored in our five pumpkins and colored a gate on a piece of paper. They
were then able to cut out their pumpkins and glue them onto the gate.
After they were done
they used the pictures as they sang the song and danced around the house! They
were so proud of their work they hung them on refrigerator for a fall/Halloween
decoration. It is a simple project, but really fun for everyone!
Here is the poem
that we sing and if you click the link it will take you to a very cute Youtube
video of the song!
Five Little Pumpkins
Author Unknown
Five little pumpkins
sitting on a gate.
The first one said,
"oh my it's getting late."
The second one said,
"there are witches in the air."
The third one said,
"but we don't care!"
The fourth one said,
"let's run and run and run."
The fifth one said,
"I'm ready for some fun!"
OOOhh OOOhh went the
wind
And out went the
lights
And the five little
pumpkins rolled out of sight.
