How cute are these sweet little buzzy bees?! I have been wanting to make a cute little crochet bee since I designed my logo and finally got the time to do it! YAY! Oh and even more exciting; the pattern is free to you!!
When my two little ones were babies I would sing the "Bumble Bee" song tickle them when it gets to the stinging part of the song. They now sing the song and sting each other. It was super cute because as soon as I gave them each a prototype to my pattern they got that look in their eye and started to pretend to sting each other.
While I was making these bees I thought "oh man these would look really cute in a mobile!" So, now I think I just might have to make a few more little bees and maybe some flowers and make a mobile!
These would also be cute as baby toys, decorations in a garden, or to decorate a cute little package to a bee lover!
They are only five and a half inches long and use basic stitches, so they are super easy to whip up. I have to say the little stinger on the bum and the heart shaped wings are my favorite part of the design!

inv. sc2tog: (invisible single crochet 2 stiches together) – Instead of inserting your hook through both loops to create the decreasing stitch, you only insert your hook through the front loop of the2 stitches you want to join together (decreasing into 1 stitch). Then, when you yarn over and pull the loop through, you finish like a normal single crochet.

Row 1 – In a magic circle ch 1, then 6sc (6sc)
Row 2 – 2sc in ea sc around (12sc)
Row 3 – 2sc in next sc, sc in next sc around (18sc)
Row 4 – 2sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc around (24sc)
Row (5-8) – sc in ea sc around (24sc)
Stop here to stitch on your face and attach your antennae
Row 9 – invis. sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc around (18sc)
Row 10 – invis. sc2tog, sc in next sc around (12sc)
Stop here and start stuffing the head.
Row 11 – *invis. sc2tog* around (6sc)
FO yellow, join black with a sc

One the back of the bee with the points of the heart winds facing each other sew in place.
Sew in any remaining ends.
