Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Here is a fun little something extra to throw in with all that left-over ham that so many of us have languishing in the freezer. It's a lot like a traditional hot ham and cheese sandwich, but I wanted to take it to the next level! So, I looked through my cupboards and refrigerator to see what I had to spice up this old favorite!



It goes perfect with a side salad, french fries, or macaroni and cheese. It is a perfect hot sandwich that makes for a great weekend lunch or a relatively quick dinner. You can't go wrong with this yummy sandwich!

Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich with a Twist

Ingredients

• Left-over cooked ham, sliced
• Small onion, sliced
• Small green pepper, sliced
• 2 minced garlic gloves
• 2 handful of spinach leaves
• 2 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cut into slices
• 2 Hot dog buns
• 2 T Olive oil

Directions

1. Heat griddle to 350
2. Sauté onion, garlic, and peppers in oil until tender
3. Add ham and heat through
4. While ham is heating through place cheese on hot dog buns and melt under broiler on low - remove once melted
5. Once ham is heated and cheese is melted, wilt the spinach into the ham mixture
6. Divide ham mixture onto cheesy rolls and enjoy!!
