I know this post is really really late, but I've been so busy with crochet patterns that I had forgotten I hadn't posted this yet.
After I got over the
shock that my baby girl was turning 5, I began planning her 5th birthday
celebration!! She really got into the Elf on the Shelf this year, so we decided
to go with that for her party and it was a huge hit!
First, I crocheted her an Elf on the Shelf costume, and little elf hats for all of her friends! She looked absolutely adorable and still puts on the outfit and plays dress up in it!
We played some super
fun yet simple games. First we played pin the nose on the snowman and then had
a bow race. The bow race was a super fun game, so much so the girls kept
playing even after it was originally over! The girls were all given a gift bow
to balance on their heads and then they had to race from one end of the hallway
to another without dropping their bow.
My daughter also
asked if I could come up with a game that all people could play together. So, I
wrote down famous holiday characters on sticky notes and when put one on
everyone's back. They then had to ask questions to try to figure out what
character they had. It was a lot of fun and everyone got many giggles out of
it!
I also crocheted an
elf for the topper to her cake! She picked a delicious dark chocolate cake with
buttercream filling. I covered it in fondant and fondant decorations. It was
super delicious and cute too! She has the elf in her room, and told me she will
now always have a bit of Christmas in her room. She is just so sweet!
For her food we made
Christmas cut out cookies, we had a Christmas snack mix with holiday coated
chocolates, and peanuts, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, and a homemade
pizza dip!! The pizza dip is always a hit and I will be sharing the recipe with
you all very soon!
It was so much fun
to play games, each good food, and visit with everyone!
