Z's 3rd Birthday Party - Polar Express Themed

Every year I love planning super fun themed birthday parties for my two little ones! My son Z loves wheels and any vehicle that has wheels! As the holidays were approaching and we started pulling out all of our favorite books; he fell in love with The Polar Express, so that is how we came up with the theme for his 3rd birthday celebration!

I love to make all the party decorations, cake, food, favors and all!! It is so much fun and I love to get my creativity on!

The first thing we needed was what? You got it … a hot cocoa bar! I mean what Polar Express party would be complete without a hot cocoa bar?!?! I made a slow cooker full of delicious hot cocoa and then used my loaf pans to hold the mix ins for the cocoa! We offered caramels, mint candy, mini marshmallows, candy canes, and whipped cream! I then decorated the pans and the slow cooker to resemble a train! So much fun!!

My little guy loves the movie version of the Polar Express, and what movie would be complete without popcorn? So, we also had a popcorn bar! I made a huge gift bag full of hot air popcorn and then we offered a variety of mix ins from peanuts, chocolate candies, and a variety of flavorings.

Here is the little sign that I hung over the table! It was a huge hit with all of our guests from the young to the old!! People were even filling their little brown bags full of goodies before they left!

I kept the games to a minimum as all the little ones were more into playing with toys than games. We played a game of conductor says (my hubby was the conductor) and also had a coloring station available for the little ones! Also, the little ones and some adults wore their pajamas just like the kids on the train.

The cake was a huge hit too!! My hubby even helped with the carving of the mountain and decorating the cake!! It was one of my favorites to create and Z LOVED it!!

It was a great party and Z still talks about it and how much fun he had, and that is really what it is all about!!
